Accroding to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports Willie Randolph's job status in day-to-day, and "the decision on whether to fire Randolph rests with general manager Omar Minaya."
Well, some of the blame should go to Willie, no doubt about that. But that being said the majority of the blame should go to the players (i.e. Beltran, Delgado) also some of the blame has to go to Omar Minaya. He's the one that built the team, not Willie. It's not Willie's fault that the Minaya didn't have a proper backup for Moises Alou. Still my gut feeling is that some major changes are about to happen, and Willie will be the first to go.

So Jerry Manual will replace willie? then keep willie, that would be making a change for changes sake. i want a guy in their who will get these players attention. And i also think Omar is the problem here,he and his over the hill gang has got to go, and now we have trot nixon? its going to be a long, long summer at the big Shea

There was a backup plan in case Alou was to be injured during the course of the season (Remember Angel Pagan?). Well, unfortunately for him he also got hurt on that great play in San Diego where he tumbled over the wall to make a great catch. What exactly is Pagan's prognosis is beyond me, no one has given us an update to his condition or when he's expected to be back. Someone is not doing their work cause we fans are on a need to know basis and we need to know. Pagan was a huge surprise for the Mets and he excelled in the spotlight, and now with he and Alou gone the Mets have had to platoon a bunch of bench players. Maybe with the acquisition of Trot Nixon the Mets can get a capable hitter and left fielder in the lineup till Alou gets back. Thanks for taking my comment. Let's Go Mets.

Minaya and Randolph should both be fired. Randolph is way too soft for a manager who grew up in Brooklyn, and Minaya is a terrible evaluator of talent. In recent days Minaya has joined the TV crew for an on air interview, has anyone figured out what Minaya was trying to say? Me either. He avoided every question by talking about how this is a New York kind of town, it is New York you clutz. Our expectations are what they are, forget what we want, think about how to fix this Mets team. We need to see a change, and as much as I don't like Willie as a manager, most of the blame should be put on Minaya for putting this team together. Let's Go Mets!

Omar has handeled this Willie Randolph thing so bad. The Mets prove once again they're a second class organization compared to the Yankees.
