Opinion: Mets Have No Class

Just to let everybody konw, I broke the story that Willie Randolph would be fired afther last night's game.
Today Omar Minaya fired Willie Randolph. Rick Peterson, and Tom Nieto, at 3 AM EST. Yes you read it after the game Omar decided to fire Willie, Rick and Tom. The Mets put out a press release at 3:30. No class whatsoever. This was pre planned that those guys would be fired. Jeff Wilpon and Fred Wilpon basically made him. In my opinion Fred and Jeff are making these calls not Omar, in which case, and I hate to say this Fred and Jeff have no class. It would be one thing if Willie was fired before the west coast trip. That would be acceptable. But why would you bring these guys out on the west coast and fire them overnight when all of New York is sleeping. Today I am embarrassed to be a Mets fan. I almost want to cry for Willie Randolph. There are proper ways to fire coaches and in proper ways to fire coaches. This was certainly improper. You fire him after the final home game before traveling to Anaheim. To make it worse if you fire the coaches on the west coast you fire them this mourning, not at 12 PST 3 AM EST when everybody in New York is sleeping.
To make it worse how many people in the Mets front office leaked information about Willie. Whoever leaked information about Willie Randolph Rick Peterson etc. about how they're very very close to being fired have no class and don't deserve to work for the Mets. It's even worse that the Yankees wouldn't even do this.
The Mets are being mocked across the country on how they handled this. Mike Vaccaro of the NY Post called this a "A midnight massacre".
Also where are the Wilpons, they deserve the overwhelming majority of the blame. Where are they? When was the last time they made a statement to the press? Why are they cowards? Yes the Wilpon's are cowards. You fire a guy on the spot, like two months ago. You don't let this linger for two months like they did. You either fire them or you don't. What a distraction to the team. The Wilpon's forced this upon Omar Minaya, which is not fair. Instead of the Wilpon's answering questions WHICH THEY SHOULD they're making Minaya do it which is completely unfair.
Bottom line: Good luck Willie, Rick and Tom, and the Mets front office especially the Wilpon's should be ashamed, embarrassed and other adjectives I don't use on this site. This is being compared to James Dolan, and his running of the Knicks. You know that is bad when the Mets are being compared to the worst sports franchise in the United States.
